Let me start by saying I have multiple thyroid and endocrine illnesses, along with malabsorption from a weight loss surgery I had nearly 20 years ago. So it was expected I’d start to lose my hair much sooner than other women. But that doesn’t mean I have to like it lol. The good I’ve noticed from Nutrafol: it has made my hair LENGTH in the back of my head grow like weeds lol. It’s super long and I like that. It means Nutrafol works for SOMETHING. Just… not what or where I expected. Read below for my hair loss story and history thus far of what I’ve tried. When I had finally had enough of seeing my hair fall out so much, I bought women’s rogaine hair serum. That was a couple years ago. I tried it for a couple months. I quickly learned I wasn’t a fan of the residue. I didn’t notice any changes, so I stopped it pretty quick and started on a long quest of research to figure out a solution that would work. I first asked my doctor for a medication called Finasteride. I’ve been on a small 5mg dose for a little over a year now. It truly doesn’t seem to have done anything either, just like the rogaine. So I complained to my doctor. She asked me if I was noticing more or less hair loss. I told her, technically neither, but it’s not any better either. Her reply was, well, that tells me it is working. She explained my loss had apparently slowed down or stopped and that meant the medication was likely preventing even more loss. She continued that without the medication, I would definitely be far worse off than I am now (and/or already bald). She suggested Nutrafol. It took me awhile to decide. I had to talk myself into it because it’s so expensive! Finally I told myself, either you buy it and try it or you’ll end up spending way more on wigs etc. So now enter Nutrafol. I’ve been on it religiously, 4 caps a day, for 3 months so far. I bought one more month, so I’m part of the way through that. See pictures. NOTE: I didn’t take any 3 month pics. I forgot. It’s too late now, so I’ll have to wait until the 4 months is up and then do it. I took them all with my hair wet as it’s easier to see the dramatic bald patches in each. The 1 month pic looked to me like my hair volume had indeed increased. When I compared my original against my 1 month, I got a little excited, because I look at my hair in the mirror every freaking day and it gets old seeing no change. Well I did the day I took the pic! So I kept up my routine, my medication and 4 capsules a day Nutrafol. Sometime between month 1 and 2, I started losing hair like crazy. I’d brush my hair and end up with a big hair ball in my brush. I was getting very nervous and worried again. But with my doctors words in memory, I continued on. So now I’ve been on Nutrafol for 3 months. I decided to “triple down” (because at this point I have nothing to lose but more hair which I’m losing in droves every day anyway lol), and I bought some “women’s saw palmetto” and a supplement called “propidren” - both here on Amazon. FYI - the propidren gummies are less expensive and yummy! Anyway, FINALLY I’m starting to notice a tiny bit of change. Some new hair growth/fill in around my forehead/hairline by my temples. I’ve only been on the WSP and Prop supplements for 1.5 months and it wasn’t until after I started those in addition to the Nutrafol AND my finasteride medication that I’m now seeing some growth. But, I’m also still seeing a ton of hair loss. They are long hairs though, and with my new length growth, I’m less concerned about that loss than I am about my previous crown breakage and loss. So I have to wonder, is it the combo of all 4 things together that’s doing it, did I finally get enough Nutrafol in my system that it’s now helping, or is it just the WSP and Prop that’s doing it? Well, I’ll have to wait another month before I know the answer to that one! Because this combo IS working and I have no intention of stopping. But I do plan to pause Nutrafol for one month after I run out, just to see what happens.
